For Your Psychological Health: Learn to "Forget Yourself"
We all have our own goals to accomplish in this life, but sometimes learning to "Forget Yourself" is helpful to carry out our responsibilities to take care of those less able, as well as take care of our planet. This doesn't mean that you don't pay attention to your own needs, but rather, to also pay attention to things greater than yourself, i.e., placing yourself in the service of problems, needs, and solutions that lie beyond your own desires and concerns. Here are some steps: Loosen the grip of self-interest: Build tolerance and proactive behavior to keep "evolving."
Practice connection and engagement: Engage and demonstrate greater collaboration, flexibility, and a creative mindset.
Identify your commonalities with others: Step outside of your own mental perspectives and visualize entering another person's world.
Reduce the gaps between your public and private life: Aim for transparency in your interactions and transactions.
Shift your perspective in difficult life situations: Aim towards not taking things personally.
Define your "life footprint": Make a list of what you would want to contribute to the world through your emotional, intellectual and creative powers during your lifetime. As always, consult your health or medical professional for any questions.
